Our feature-rich Bots and Apps are versatile and specifically designed to enhance the experience of Discord Servers and their "Discord End User".

The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours! — is a big deal to us. In this policy, we lay out:

  • how your data is handled;
  • and your rights to your data.

We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.

Use of Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how we might use your information if you:

  • Visit related websites operated alongside our Services, including loveliveradio.ca and its related pages (for example Wrapped, radio, posters, and mini-games);

  • “Bot(s)” or “App(s)”, we are referring to any Discord application of ours that references or links to this policy, as listed above;
  • “Service(s)”, we are referring to our Website, Bot(s), App(s) and other related services, including any marketing, or events;
  • “Data”, we are referring to any data, content, and information (including personal information) owned, held, used or created by you (or on your behalf) that may be stored using, or processed by, our Services;
  • “Discord”, we are referring to Discord Inc. and its related companies;
  • “Discord End User”, we are referring to you, as someone who is using Discord-related services according to their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service;
  • “Discord End User Data”, we are referring to the data you provide to Discord through the Discord App;
  • “Discord App”, we are referring to the client(s) (desktop, mobile, web, …) that Discord offers to their End User(s) to access their services;
  • “Discord API” we are referring to the API (Application Programming Interfaces) Discord provides to developers, that enables us to access your Discord End User Data according to their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

The purpose of this privacy policy is to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.

Please read this privacy policy carefully, as it will help you understand what we do with the information that we collect.

Developer Information

Our Services are developed and maintained by @42gami ("Owner"), a dedicated developer committed to providing robust and efficient Discord Apps for enhancing Discord server functionalities; alongside other support staff who share and uphold ethical practices relating to our Services.

Data Collection

Types of Data Collected

Our Services collect specific data to ensure its proper functionality and to enhance user experience. The types of data collected include:

  • Server IDs: Unique identifiers for the servers where our Bot is active, and related server settings such as channel IDs and feature toggles.
  • Server Owner IDs and Names: Unique identifiers and Discord display names for the owners of servers where our Bot is active, used for administration and logging.
  • Discord End User IDs: Unique identifiers for Discord users interacting with our Bot or related Websites.
  • Discord Usernames and Avatars: Discord usernames, global names, display names, and avatar identifiers or URLs associated with your Discord ID for features such as leveling, leaderboards, radio chat, and website sessions.
  • Partial Discord Message Content: Content of messages that directly interact with our Bot, such as commands and command arguments.
  • Full Discord Message Content: Full content of messages when a feature requires it, including (where enabled) moderation or edit/delete logging, starboard reposts, radio website chat, theater absorption tools, quiz submissions, song requests, and similar features; this may include messages that are not a direct bot command.
  • Feature-Specific Profile Data: Optional information you choose to provide for features such as birthdays and time zones, AniList usernames, watch progress, points/badges, attendance, portfolio or game progress, and related preference data.
  • Website Session Data: When you sign in to related Websites with Discord OAuth (identify scope), we process your Discord ID, username, and avatar to create a session. We do not request Discord email scope for these logins.
  • Technical Data: Transient technical data such as IP addresses may be processed in memory for rate limiting and abuse prevention and is not retained as a long-term user profile store.
  • We do not access or collect Discord End User payment methods stored with Discord, and we do not request real names, email addresses, or phone numbers through Discord OAuth for our Bot or related Website logins.

Purpose of Data Collection

The primary purpose of collecting Server IDs, Server Owner IDs, Discord End User IDs, and related identifiers is to enable our Services to function effectively within Discord servers and on related Websites. This data allows the bot and related Services to:

  • Authenticate and authorize activities within the server and on related Websites.
  • Ensure smooth interaction and integration with server-specific settings.
  • Facilitate administrative functions, such as managing announcements, events, and live-stream or radio management.
  • Provide specific features, such as moderation logging, custom reactions, leveling, points and badges, song requests, quizzes, starboard, games, Wrapped-style statistics, and related community tools.

Storage of Data

Primary Bot databases (including the main Discord data store and radio chat database) are stored using SQLCipher encryption at rest (AES-256), protected by an application encryption key. Related Website and game data may also be stored as files or caches on our hosting provider (for example profile caches and mini-game progress). Session identifiers for Website logins are stored as cookies or signed session tokens as needed to keep you signed in.

Duration of Data Storage

Collected data is retained for as long as it is needed to operate our Services, maintain feature history (such as points, attendance, or statistics), comply with legitimate operational needs, or respond to support and abuse-prevention requests. Removing our Bot from a Discord server does not automatically delete all associated data from our systems. Some data is short-lived by design (for example in-memory rate limits or capped live chat buffers). You may request deletion of data tied to your Discord ID as described in Opt-Out Options below.

Data Usage

Data Sharing

Our Services do not sell your data. We do not share collected data with third parties except as needed to operate our Services through essential self-managed infrastructure and the external providers listed in this policy, or when required by law. The data is used for the functionality of our Services and is not disclosed for unrelated advertising or brokerage.

Data Security

To help protect your data, primary Bot databases are encrypted at rest with SQLCipher (AES-256) and hosted on infrastructure that may also use disk encryption. Related Website files and logs may not use the same database-level encryption and are protected with hosting access controls. We take commercially reasonable measures to protect data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats, and we update our practices over time.

Some specific measures include:

  • User Identification and Discord End User Data Processing: Wherever possible, the primary identification key related to you that is stored on our system is your “Discord ID”. Your “Discord ID” is a number provided by the Discord API and linked to your Discord End User Data. Additional Discord-derived fields (such as username or avatar) may be stored when a feature requires them.
  • Encryption at Rest: Primary Bot database files are encrypted at rest using SQLCipher (AES-256). Ancillary Website caches, game progress files, and application logs may be stored without the same database encryption and should be treated accordingly.

By joining a server that uses our Services and/or interacting with one of our listed Bots or related Websites, users implicitly consent to the data collection practices outlined in this privacy policy. This consent is necessary for our Bot and related Services to function effectively.

Opt-Out Options

How Can You Opt-Out Of Providing Your Data?
In Short: Our Services may offer the ability to self opt-out of providing some data by disabling optional features. When this option is not available, you may contact us to have your situation examined.

Under certain circumstances, you may decide to opt-out of providing your data to us or, in other words, request us to have your personal data tied to your Discord ID deleted from our Services. Depending on the personal information we collect, store, and process, and the specific Service we are offering to you, you may be able to self opt-out of providing some, or all, data.

In relation to the data that we collect, store, and process, you may have the following options regarding the ability to opt-out, or have your data deleted:

  • Discord ID

    • Opting out of providing your Discord ID may not be possible in all circumstances. Your Discord ID is, in a general way, not a specific PII unless it’s matched with other personal information that is collected, stored, and processed by Discord. You may refer to the Discord Privacy Policy and Discord’s Terms of Service to know how to opt-out of providing your Discord ID.

  • Partial Discord Message Content

    • In regard to the content of messages that let you directly interact with our Bot, such as when using commands, you may self opt-out of all occasions where you provided us with any custom input by disabling, or properly reconfiguring, such features that were configured using custom inputs.

  • Full Discord Message Content

    • In regard to the content of messages that you send using the Discord App, even when the message is not related to a direct interaction with our Bot, you may (or may not) have the ability to self opt-out of providing your data depending on the technical implementation of such features that access your full message content. You may refer to the technical documentation of our Services for more information about whether this ability is provided. Server administrators can typically disable moderation logging and similar features in their server settings.

  • Other Discord End User Data

  • Deletion Requests

In all cases where self opt-out is not an option, you may contact us in our Support Server or by email detailing your inquiry. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

The legal basis for our Services's data collection and processing is the legitimate interest in providing a functional and efficient Bot service to Discord servers and related Websites. Additionally, user consent is obtained implicitly when users join a server using our Services and/or interact with our Bot or related Websites.

Compliance with Laws

Our Services are committed to complying with relevant data protection laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These regulations ensure that data collection, processing, and storage practices are transparent, lawful, and respectful of user privacy.

Your Privacy Rights

By choosing GDPR as our privacy framework, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information.

Multiple privacy frameworks may be applied when storing and processing your data. We chose to align with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), extending those rights to you independently of where you are.

  • In "GDPR terminology", as referred to in Article 4, we often refer to the following concepts:
    • Data Subject: Any identifiable natural person whose personal data may be accessed, stored, and processed (in other words, you).
    • Data Controller: Determines the purposes for which and the means by which personal data is processed.
    • Data Processor: Processes personal data only on behalf of the controller.

We are a Data Controller of the information you provide to us, and a Data Processor of the Discord End User Data we are provided by the Discord API.

According to the GDPR, in certain circumstances (Chapter 3), you may have the following data protection rights:

  • The right to access, update or to delete the information we have on you.
  • The right of rectification.
  • The right to object.
  • The right of restriction.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent.

In circumstances where these rights may apply, you may request the application of such rights. To make such a request, you may contact us detailing your inquiry. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Childrens Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect PII from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13 and believe he or she has disclosed personal information to us please contact us as soon as feasibly possible in our Support Server or by email at loveliveradio@outlook.com.

Payments & Monetization

Premium and Support Funding

When Premium or supporter perks are offered, funding may be handled through Patreon or similar supporter platforms. Those providers process payment details under their own privacy policies. We do not store or collect your payment card details on our systems. Premium purchase availability may change over time; when Premium is unavailable, this section describes how payments would be handled if and when such offerings return.

We do not currently process Premium purchases through PayPal or Stripe on our Website. If we later enable Website payment processors, card details would be provided directly to those processors and governed by their privacy policies and PCI-DSS standards.

Premium Subscriptions Through Discord App Monetization

In the event that Discord extends the scope of its Monetizing Your Discord App documentation beyond the current jurisdictions of the United States, European Union, or United Kingdom, as specified in said documentation in effect on the date at the top of this our Privacy Policy, to include the country of residence of the Owner, the following actions will be taken:

  • Premium subscriptions through Discord Monetization will be implemented as soon as feasibly possible.
  • Subscription services through our website for Discord Apps will be discontinued indefinitely as soon as feasibly possible, if such website subscription services are then active.
  • Monetization of our Discord Apps will be conducted in accordance with the Discord Monetization Policy and the Discord Monetization Terms.

These will be pertinent to our Bots and Apps used on Discord. Any data divulged or already stored by Discord regarding your payment methods for these subscriptions is not available to us.

Third-Party Services

Third-Party Privacy Policies

While we do our best to keep our providers under observation, you are advised to refer to their respective privacy policies for further details. Our Services are based on both self-developed and essential self-managed assets, and assets that are provided to us by external third-party providers. In choosing our providers, we assess their technical and organizational policies and choose those that preserve your privacy according to valid policies. Despite this assessment, this privacy policy may not apply to other third-party providers that we may leverage on in order to provide our Services. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party providers for more detailed information.

If you are not a member of our Support Server you waive any right to receive specific notice of each such change. Users are encouraged to review our Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how their data is protected. You will be subject to, and will be deemed to have been made aware of and to have accepted, the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Services after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.
